the yarn thief

I have often heard people say there are no nicer people than racetracks for most part I agree . Every day I see people offering yarn needles ,hooks, or help to fellow crafters in need but just recently i have seen a darker side

.
A French company  were offering a promotion . You got ten pound for signing up and ten more if your friends joined face book went Wild as the offer went viral. People started getting greedy as setting fake accounts using friends to get as much free yarn as possible. The company couldn't cope and suspended offer and  said delivery would be delayed

Over the next few weeks the company were harrassed by people  wanting there yarn. People complained they didn't like colour or feel of wool.  The company tried to explain the communication hard as only one English speaking part time worker ., but still people were not happy. The company are currently investigating the obvious abuse of the offer which can only be termed as theft people orders are now delayed and who knows the damage to
the company who could not have expected this response

So I guess what I am.saying is why not show the company some love you can visit them. Here http://www.bergeredefrance.co.uk/cyclone.html

If you benefited from the offer you could leave them a nice word email them.review them.on a blog anything to Redeem there view of the crafting community

In case tour wondering I did take up the other but just the ten pounds and not redeemed it yet  but looming at there lovely wool I am.sure I will be visiting soon.

big poppy knit

You would have been.blind and deaf not to have heard that this year we commerate the 100 year anniversary of the great war. England as usual honor our history in amazing ways my favourite being the tower of London's ceramic poppies. I was lucky enough to have gone to see them in London the other week

I have also Bern watching the people's story on.itv  . One story of a officer and his wife moved me to tears last week. We all know the war was terrible and people suffered  but we forget these were actually really people who died and left behind wives children mother's and friends in order for us to have a better life

So what can we do to help?  Well I bought one of these beautiful ceramic poppies but I wanted to do do more . Then I read about the big poppy knit http://www.broxtowe.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=13773.

This is something we can all do to show our appreciation to those fallen hero's  so today I have made a start ok so it just the one but as a famous supermarket keeps telling us every little helps so why not give it ago

pins and needles

Ok well hooks

I made a pin cushion to go with the hook case I made for my friend .  Here is one I made  a  when I first learned to crochet
It's funny how changing the colours changes the whole look

My Friend loves bright colours so I hope she likes  it  it goes well with the case together they are bright and fun  talking of the case  I have a question for you.

I put the photo in a craft group on fb. The majority said it looked rude lol I can see where they ate comming from.and the colour certainly doesn't help although the camera doesnt give true image  but it's meant to be a giant hook not a giant c##k lol

I would love to know what you think lol here is the picture again

one done...a million left

So I have started on the Xmas stuff and bored already.  I started a cute puppy wholeness limbs and ears but nothing could make me pick.up that hook. So I did what any self respecting Booker does I wasted day on ravelry.

While I was browsing I found a pattern for hook case shaped as a hook  . My friend who introduced me to  crochet mentioned she didn't have a pin cushion so for her Xmas present I have decided to give her the case and pin cushion .

The case was quick easy and fun. Think it took about two hours.

It's a really handy case and quirky and fun . Now to crack on southbound cushion . More searching on ravelry  lol  if all else fails I will make her a copy of mine. Still no harm.in looking is there

xmas countdown

I have started my Xmas shopping. So there is no real excuse not to start my Xmas crafting  of course I have finished my bunting

But this is only a tip of very large  iceberg!!
Crochet gifts are always a bit hit and miss some love some hate my boys love luckily for me  I have decided to make a  chicken cushion to go with my youngest ever increasing chicken collection.

My son has requested a wreath but not pretty  and flowery like this

Instead he wants a pokemon Inspired one.  I am looming forward to letting imagination go wild . But it's a project I can't start till back at school.

Men are always hard but the men in my life are all getting socks . Chunky ones for quickness lol. I hope it goes better than my only other attempt where I did one and it never got its partner lol

I  have about  three pairs minimum to do of these

Just when you think the end is in sight I have countless toys to make including barman and my little pony and all this before I do the decorations and wreath I had planned . I best get on  I will be hooking right up till Xmas morning lol. Have you started your plans yet ???

chunky love

I wasn't idle on my holiday. I took my attic 24 chunky pack. The plan was to make the jolly chunky bag.  I didn't finish it in my time away but have finished today and here it is

Those  of you who love Lucy will be able to see some obvious differences between mine and hers .  Firstly mine in narrower . This is simply as I got carried away chatting and forgot to do the increases lol

The other difference is less noticeable in a picture but is the tension . Mine is looser. This was because I planned to use my new pro wave hook and used the wrong size lol. The hook I had was the pink 5.5  . I love pink and let my enthusiasm get away from.me lol

Even with these might or differences I do like the bag and its very jolly indeed !!!

road trip scarf

It seems ages since I last finished a project.

I started  this yesterday . It's a road trip scarf and its flooding the internet groups on face book . Mine is slightly different as it uses chunky but I have followed booty owls pattern just added less embellishments . You can find the pattern on ravelry

The wool is lovely  different tones of brown
The whole scarf is really snuggly and as a winter lover am looking forward to  winter days to try it out

I enjoyed the pattern and its simple to follow but the edging as led many to cry frustration . I have seen many pleas for help as people reach the last row. I too called for help thankfully my friend explained and I could finish. Now I really must crack on with unfinished projects then Xmas lol

hookless

Am back from.holiday. it wasn't the relaxing time I expected but still on the whole enjoyable didn't touch my hooks for a couple of days but yesterday felt like some mindless hooking and opened my work bag to find no hooks !!!!

Well ok not no hooks I had one pink knit wave pro . But my whole set that lives in leather launch were gone. I searched house but nothing rang my mum.hoping I left them there but no nothing.

I do have spares but I want them lol!!

I had planned a whole post about my lovely new wave pro hook and with this in mind and loss of my.trusty cheepo ones think I will buy myself a new set I have my eye on these

If you have used these hooks I am sure you will u understand my love for these hooks if bot go on treat yourself !!

afternoon tea

Is there anything more English then afternoon tea especially on a Sunday summer afternoon.

With this tradition in mind I made these.

I have no idea what purpose they  have . Or if purpose matters when we create. The kids love them so I guess one way or another they will have a use and was a great way to waste a Sunday

twit twoo

Am on a roll at finishing off works in progress the latest is this owl keyring that cane free with this month's simply crochet.

Ok so it looms simple enough but looks are deceiving. The pattern was simple. The hard part came with the materials supplied it is made with embroidery  thread  I was pleased at first as I had some small hooks I never used but it was harder than no thought . And the eyes were impossible .  So I cheated and used buttons. This is not the first kit that has  caused me problems in fact it's only one I finished.  Looking on website I found every one had same issue. If you made it would love to see yours

festive bunting

I was determined to finish this bunting but it's been hard going. I blame weather Xmas stuff in  the temperature we been having is hard going

I did enjoy it mainly as my youngest son helped with the triangle . My hope is year on year I will look at it and remember an evening crocheting together watching Monty python and singing I am a lumberjack lol

As you can see its quite simple  granny triangles and stars repeated.  But I like the effect better than the cheap plastic chains I buy and break every year lol

 So what now ??

Well I do have a cushion to.complete but am.going away for a couple of weeks and it not suitable, so I have decided to try the jolly chunky bag from.Lucy at attic 24 ' I really must stop starting projects and actually finish them.lol
